Cargo Container Homes by GBO
Cargo container homes are extremely rewarding - and fun - to build, but the construction, permitting and inspection processes are complicated. Knowing the steps involved in building your cargotecture home and working with experienced builders - like the pros at GBO Homes - makes the dream of finishing a shipping container project easier to come true.
Our latest adventures brought us to San Diego, where we built a beautiful two-story cargo container home overlooking the Coronado Bridge.
Container Home at 2590 Island Ave. San Diego
We used six cargo shipping containers to build a gorgeous, modern home with three fully functional bedrooms and bathrooms.
The view from the deck and the wonderful neighborhood made completing this 320-square-foot cargo container a joy.
The finished home no longer resembles a shipping container thanks to modern windows, doors, balcony railing and stained pine wood.
Our minimalist design and taste for clean, modern living came through in the spacious dining room and sleek bar counter. The vibrant contrast between the dark laminate wood flooring and white furniture creates an uplifting pop of color. We decided to go with lime green for the interior walls to add visual space and liven up the cargo container home's style.
Shipping cargo containers allow us to design modular buildings which leave a home's potential up to your imagination.
A seat on the couch in this modern living room comes with a view that looks the same as a traditional home... at a fraction of the cost.
